What better way tonpresent this sentiment than by building the home within the heart. I created a house out of sheetmetal, papering it inside and out with handmade papers. I wanted something cosy and welcoming. The heart was cut and formed out of plywood and then wrapped with handmade papers. One half is a traditional red which then blends into a rainbow of color and then into various decorative papers. I added ceramic hearts, buttons, and a gewgaw or two to suggest home life. The assemblage hangs enabling the viewer to see it from any direction.
